New Beginnings

No one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have – Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11)

My dear friend Adela wants to begin an on-line Bible study and I agreed. I love to study God’s word and hear the insights from others and share what God is doing in their lives, and pray with them through life’s struggles. So we begin, appropriately, the week after Resurrection Sunday knowing in Christ we are new creations.

Philippians is a short book of four chapters so the first week we will  look at Paul, Timothy and how the church began. The next four weeks we will examine one chapter. Since I feel the value of inductive study is great ( I  highly recommend Precept upon Precept studies by Kay Arthur ), we will study God’s word as our primary source by  observing, interpreting  and then applying.

If you want to join the discussion, please introduce yourself and jump right in. Obviously, it is a work in progress and we will earn what works best as we go. My prayer is that each of us will grow more in love with Jesus and His love will spill out from us into the world who desperately needs Him.

  1. Hi, friends, this is Adela. After the Easter festivities and get-togethers, I have finally settled to where there is some quiet time to reflect on God’s word. I look forward to studying Philippians online…it has been quite a while since doing a group Bible study with all ladies. Thank you, Lynn, for facilitating the study. This non-techie would not have gotten anywhere without your willingness to undertake this along with me, and I am so thankful for you. Thank you also to the others–Kori, Debbie, Miki–as I see your email addresses. Diane Bartosik will be away so she can’t devote her attention to this; however, she would like to be included in the group address so she can pray for things that come up.

  2. Greating, my sisters in Christ. Thank you for inviting me to study one of my favorite books of the Bible with you. My life verse is from this first chapter verse six, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will pefect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
I’m happy to be in a Bible study led by you, Lynn (via online). Please pray that I be deligent in participating and studying His Word with all of you. “I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you” vs. 3

  3. I am excited to be a part of this study with all of you. What a blessing it is for me to have sisters-in-Christ who love God deeply and are desiring to grow together. I pray that we will make time to be still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10). Thank you Lynn, for facilitating this study. Blessings, Debbie

  7. Hi Lynn and ladies,
Thank you for inviting me for this study of Philippians. I have never done a bible study like this before, and I feel this is going to be a challenge for me. However, I am looking forward to hearing how God will speak to us through this study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians.

  9. Hello everyone, I hope you don’t mind me tagging along when I can. I’ve recently been meditating over what I should study and my mom told me about this study. I’m excited to be able to join a study rather than sit at the dinning room table doing homework!

  10. Hi, Ashleigh! I’m glad you’re joining the study with us. Isn’t it amazing how present technology enables us to be in touch with one another all over the world.
